1945 NIT Basketball Tournament

The 1945 National Invitation Tournament was held at Madison Square Garden, New York City. It consisted of eight (8) teams teams in a single game elimination format. In the championship game the DePaul Blue Demons coached by Ray Meyer defeated the Bowling Green Falcons to claim their first NIT title. George Mikan of DePaul was named he tournament MVP.
