1942 NIT Basketball Tournament

The 1942 National Invitation Tournament was held at Madison Square Garden, New York City. It consisted of eight (8) teams teams in a single game elimination format. In the championship game the West Virginia Mountaineers defeated the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers to claim their first NIT title. Rudy Baric of West Virginia was named he tournament MVP.
