1943 NIT Basketball Tournament

The 1943 National Invitation Tournament was held at Madison Square Garden, New York City. It consisted of eight (8) teams teams in a single game elimination format. In the championship game the St. John's Redmen coached by Joseph Lapchick defeated the Toledo Rockets to claim their first NIT title. Harry Boykoff of St. John's was named he tournament MVP.
