1985 NIT Basketball Tournament

The 1985 NIT Tournament remained at a 32 team field. The preliminary rounds consisting of four regions with eight teams each playing at a teams home site. The four finalists from the regions met at Madison Square Gardeens to determine a champion. The tournament began on Tuesday, March 12, 1985, and ended when the UCLA Bruins defeated the Indiana Hoosiers in the NIT championship game on Friday, March 29, 1985,. The Bruins were led by first-year head coach Walt Hazzard anfd the tournament MVP was Reggie Miller from UCLA.
