The Canadian Football League (CFL) is a professional Canadian football league. It consists of nine teams, divided into two divisions, with four teams in the East Division and five in the West Division. The CFL is the highest professional level of Canadian football and is headquartered in Toronto.. Eight are charter members from the league's inaugural 1958 season: the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks (formerly Eskimos), Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Although expansion teams have joined the league throughout its history, especially during the league's brief expansion into the United States, only the Ottawa Redblacks continue to play in the league today.

CFL - Terry Evanshen Trophy - East Most Outstanding Player Award

The Terry Evanshen Trophy is a trophy awarded to the Canadian Football League East Division's Most Outstanding Player, chosen from the nominees of each team in the division. Either this trophy winner or the winner of the Jeff Nicklin Memorial Trophy (West MOP) will also receive the Canadian Football League Most Outstanding Player Award. The trophy was named for Terry Evanshen, who was a star wide receiver for the Montreal Alouettes, the Calgary Stampeders, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Toronto Argonauts. The Terry Evanshen Trophy replaced the Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy which was officially retired in 1994.
