Canadian University (U Sports) and Canadian College Hockey

The U Sports Hockey is arguably the most
underrated league in North America. The U Sports Hockey is comprised of mostly
ex Major Junior players as well as top Junior A players and this combination
makes for highly skilled hockey.
We have included the playing conferences and past information in this area. Canadian college hockey refers to Community college hockey not university level. It consisted of two conferences. The Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and the Alberta Colleges (ACAC). It was under the overall juristriction of the CCAA, Canadian College Athletic Associatiion but is no longer offered. |

Each year a championship series is held to determine a Canadian wide university champion, which is presented the University Cup. In 1978, the governing body of the league changed its name to the Canadian Interuniversity Athletics Union. The body's name was changed in 2001 to Canadian Interuniversity Sport, and most recently in 2016, to the current U Sports.
