Usports Mens Hockey Awards

Every year USports recognizes individuals for outstanding performances across all the regional associations. Below is a summary of these awards.

Senator Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy - Player of the Year

The Senator Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy, named in honour of Joseph Albert Sullivan, is presented annually to the outstanding ice hockey player (Player of the Year) in U Sports, the governing body for Canadian university athletics.

Clare Drake Award - Rookie of the Year

The Clare Drake Award is the annual Rookie of the Year award presented to the U Sports men's ice hockey player who is judged by a committee of the U Sports Men's Hockey Coaches Association to be the most outstanding first-year player in the U Sports who has exhibited exemplary skill and leadership. First awarded following the 1985–86 season, the award is named after Clare Drake, who is the coach with the most wins in U Sports men's hockey history.

Father George Kehoe Memorial Award - Coach of the Year

The Father George Kehoe Memorial Award is awarded annually to the U Sports men's ice hockey Coach of the Year as selected by the U Sports Men's Hockey Coaches Association.The award is named in honour of the late Rev. George Kehoe, a St. Francis Xavier University alumni[1] and Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame inductee who was the director of athletics at St. Francis Xavier University for many years.
