The Gold Cup Championship
The Gold Cup is awarded each year to the winner of the USA Junior A National Tournament. The cup recognizes the premier Junior A team in the country. Until the 2002 season one representative from each of the 3 Junior A leagues attended along with the host team. This changed in 2002 with the decision of the USHL to move to tier I and not participate in the Gold Cup championship. It was revised again in 2004 due to the merger of the AWHL and NAHL into a single league.
