NASCAR - Autozone Elite Division Series
![]() |
The NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division featured late model style cars competing on a variety of short tracks and superspeedways serving as a feeder system to the NASCAR Grand National Division and NASCAR's three national series.pThe AutoZone Elite Division consisted of four divisions: Northwest, Southwest, Southeast, and Midwest. At the end of 2005, NASCAR announced that the AutoZone Elite Division would be discontinued after the 2006 season due escalating costs of competing and downsizing of the Division in recent years. |
In January 2003 NASCAR formed a “feeder system” for its three national series, with the creation of two racing divisions. The all-new NASCAR Elite Division and NASCAR Grand National Division were to provide a clear path for local and regional racers to advance towards the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, NASCAR Busch Series and the NASCAR Winston Cup Series.
In December 2003 AutoZone became the title sponsor of the NASCAR Elite Division. The Elite Division, was re-named the NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, consisting of four individual racing series- Midwest, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest.
