Central City Speedway - Cup Series Race Winners

The NASCAR Cup Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR (the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR’s premier series had been known as the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series since Jan. 1, 2017, rebranded in 2020. It holds races over the season at tracks located in the United States both road courses and ovals. Although the roots of the series was in the use of "stock" manufacturers vehicles, todays cars are custom built automobiles powered by custom built V8 engines.

Central City Speedway - Cup Series Race Winners

Central City Speedway was a NASCAR, and GASCAR track that was located in Macon, GA. Eight Sprint Cup (then Grand National) events occured at the half-mile dirt track. Herb Thomas won the inagural event, held in 1951. Thomas and Lee Petty would share the wins in 1952. In 1953, Speedy Thompson and Dick Rathman shared the races and Gober Sosebee won the first event in 1954. The last event was held in late 1954, won by Hershel McGriff. The track has since closed. As it was a small track, Central City never attracted big fields, with the most cars being in one race at 28.
