Starkey Speedway - Cup Series Race Winners

The NASCAR Cup Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR (the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR’s premier series had been known as the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series since Jan. 1, 2017, rebranded in 2020. It holds races over the season at tracks located in the United States both road courses and ovals. Although the roots of the series was in the use of "stock" manufacturers vehicles, todays cars are custom built automobiles powered by custom built V8 engines.

Starkey Speedway - Cup Series Race Winners

Starkeys Speedway originally opened as a 0.25 mile paved track in 1950. In 1954 a 0.40 mile dirt oval track was added, The track was very popular running mainly Midgets and Sportsmans. Starkeys Speedway hosted its first Nascar race in 1956 for convertable cars with three more Nascar events being held, the last one being in 1964. In 1965 Starkys was renamed Roanoke Speedway and continued to run Stock Car racing until 1971 when the track closed.
