The NASCAR Cup Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR (the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR’s premier series had been known as the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series since Jan. 1, 2017, rebranded in 2020. It holds races over the season at tracks located in the United States both road courses and ovals. Oglethorpe Speedway Park - Cup Series Race Winners
 | Oglethorpe Speedway opened in March of 1951 as a oiled dirt track, Motorcycle's and Car shared the track with a lot of success, peaking in the 1960's. The venue did take a major hit in the 1960's when the nearby Savannah Speedway opened, The drivers and fans would migrate from Oglethorpe to the Savannah dirt track initially and then when it was sealed that was the death of Oglethorpe, The owner's continued to battle on through to 1976 when they closed the track at the end of the 1976 season. However the speedway did re-open again under new owners in the 1980's and continued to operate ramping up the program with Sprintcars and Late Model Sedans, through until 2021 when it closed. |
