Southside Speedway - Cup Series Race Winners

The NASCAR Cup Series is a stock car racing series owned and operated by NASCAR (the National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing). NASCAR’s premier series had been known as the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series since Jan. 1, 2017, rebranded in 2020. It holds races over the season at tracks located in the United States both road courses and ovals. Although the roots of the series was in the use of "stock" manufacturers vehicles, todays cars are custom built automobiles powered by custom built V8 engines.

Southside Speedway - Cup Series Race Winners

Southside Speedway was a 0.33 mile paved oval track used for stock car racing, located South of Richmond, Virginia. On December 11, 2020, the track announced it would be closing permanently after the 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.Southside Speedway, known as Royall Speedway in the early 1950s, first opened in 1949 and hosted midget races. For a few years, it was used as a part of NASCAR's early circuit. The first NASCAR Cup Series race on Southside Speedway happened on August 18, 1961. At that time, the track was a 1/4 mile dirt oval.
